Where technology and people management come together

Some people follow a straight career path. Marc Vos has never been one of those people. Equal parts engineer, coach, organiser and musician, he has spent his career deliberately seeking out variety. In his current role as Group Lead at Nobleo Technology, he has found a place where he can combine all those threads. “I am working with technology and with people,” Marc says. “Everything I have built up over the years, fits in perfectly at Nobleo. And what’s more, I can even play drums here.”

Built for breadth

After graduating in electrical engineering, Marc spent a decade at a large industrial company, progressing from embedded systems engineer to system architect and ultimately to group leader, getting his first taste of what it feels like to lead a team. When a reorganisation ended that chapter, he went independent, combining technical consultancy with a sideline repairing guitar amplifiers from a workshop at home.

Over the years that followed, Marc moved from freelancing into co-ownership of a staffing business focusing on the high-tech market, then into a business unit management role at a software company. Leaving the technical world entirely behind, he threw himself fully into HR, focusing on the growth of both people and organisation. “When I joined, the team numbered 35, by the time I left seven years later, we had grown to 105. Yet despite that success, I increasingly missed the world of technology,” Marc recounts. “That’s when I decided I wanted to get back into mechatronics.”

The right place

Nobleo came onto Marc’s radar through his network, and it felt right from the moment he stepped through their door. “What struck me immediately was the combination of a high-tech environment, ambitious and highly educated people, and a culture that is genuinely warm and social.” He joined as Group Lead in 2024, and his role quickly expanded well beyond leading his own team. “I also lead two competence groups, ensuring Nobleo’s technical expertise keeps pace with market developments. In addition, I informally coach the more junior group leads and I play an active part in shaping how Nobleo evaluates its people and stimulates their development. That breadth is exactly what I was looking for. Here, I can be an engineer and coach at the same time, using all experiences I have gained over the years.”

People over process

At the heart of Marc’s work is a conviction that good leadership starts with understanding people, their ambitions, patterns, and blind spots. The coaching Marc provides goes beyond career planning.

“I believe that self-knowledge is the foundation of everything. You first need to know yourself well enough to be able to lead yourself in the right direction. If you don’t, you won’t get far no matter how talented you are.”

That belief has led Marc to organise an Enneagram workshop, bringing colleagues together to explore their personality types and ways of working. “It is a practical tool that allows teams to better understand each other and to create a shared language around differences that might otherwise cause friction,” Marc explains. “Once people understand what drives their colleagues, a lot of things start to make sense. The workshop helps teams work better together.”

Drums, farm, and a festival

Outside the office, Marc’s life looks remarkably similar: full, varied, and driven by genuine enthusiasm. He has been drumming since the age of four, following in his father’s footsteps. Since then, he has played in multiple bands over the years. And he was warmly welcomed in the Nobleo band, who was sorely missing a permanent drummer. Since starting at Nobleo, he already played in front of a fully packed town square on King’s Day and at Snobleo, the annual ski trip to Austria. “Playing music with my colleagues is just brilliant,” he says enthusiastically. “I expected to find many things at Nobleo, but a company band was not one of them. It feels great that I can even practice my hobby here!”

Marc’s inability to sit still is also proven by the fact that he and his wife completely rebuilt an old farmhouse in thirteen months’ time during the pandemic. “We did everything ourselves, from brickwork and carpentry to electricity and even the roofs. We are currently busy fixing the outbuildings and managing our vegetable garden and livestock.” And if this isn’t enough, Marc is also organising a music festival in his backyard jointly with his eldest son. “It is actually a mini revival of the Vosstock festival I first organised when I was 18 years old. At its peak it drew around 300 people to my parents’ farm.”

What makes the difference

For anyone considering joining Nobleo, Marc has simple advice: if you are looking for a place that genuinely invests in you, technically, professionally, and personally, it is worth a serious look. “What sets Nobleo apart is a combination that is hard to find elsewhere” he says. “A real social culture, where people look out for each other and enjoy spending time together. Genuine challenge, with complex, high-tech work that keeps you sharp. And real opportunities to grow, in your craft, in your role, and as a person. If that is what you are looking for, you will feel right at home here.”
