40th American Society for Precision Engineering Meeting
Mathijs and Niels joined the 40th American Society for Precision Engineering Annual Meeting in San Diego to stay actively connected to the international precision engineering community. This network helps shape the standards, methods and system level thinking that define precision engineering worldwide. By participating at this level we keep our engineers close to the latest scientific insights and practical advancements in the domain.
Across the programme we saw how the field is evolving: modelling of thermal effects, reducing machine errors like chatter, beam-steering interferometry, vibration isolation in combination with reluctance motors, and repetitive control. These breakthroughs and evolutions help us develop state of the art solutions in our own projects.
The event also offered valuable opportunities to meet researchers, engineers and organisations working on demanding high accuracy challenges, giving us a clearer view of where our expertise can contribute to their ambitions.
