From fleeing war to engineering excellence

Life is a journey of constant learning

Adem Bavarsi’s journey to becoming a mechatronics engineer at Nobleo is a story of resilience, passion, and lifelong learning. From fleeing war in Syria to pursuing engineering excellence in the Netherlands, his path reflects both the personal and professional transformations that have shaped him. Now, nine months into his role at Nobleo Technology, Adem shares what it’s like to work at the company and why he believes Nobleo is a perfect fit for him.

A journey of transformation: from Syria to the Netherlands

Adem’s story began in Syria, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. But when the war broke out, he was forced to leave his home country and move to Turkey. There, he enrolled at Istanbul Technical University to study aerospace engineering, a lifelong passion of his. “Moving to Turkey was difficult. But it was also an opportunity for a fresh start, having to start my life from scratch,” Adem recalls. He balanced his studies with part-time work as a translator, determined to build a better future.
After earning his master’s degree in aerospace he worked at Turkish Airlines for two years. However, the COVID-19 pandemic halted the aviation industry, and Adem found himself searching for a new challenge. That search led him to Eindhoven, where he enrolled in the master’s degree program in Systems and Control at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), yet again having to start his life over again. “At 32, I was back on campus again,” he says. “To support my young family I had to take on two part-time jobs alongside my studies. It was a huge but yet rewarding challenge.”

“It’s more than just a workplace,

it feels like a small family engineering house.”

A perfect match: finding home at Nobleo

When Adem completed his studies at the TU/e, he began looking for a company that aligned with his values and aspirations. “I applied to many companies, but Nobleo really stood out,” Adem says. “It’s more than just a workplace—it feels like a small family engineering house. There’s freedom here to be yourself and to explore your ideas. I feel surrounded by passionate, smart people who motivate me to keep growing.”
One of the aspects Adem appreciates most about Nobleo is the flat organizational structure. “The hierarchy is almost non-existent,” he explains. “You can speak directly and openly with anyone, share your opinions, and make decisions faster. It’s refreshing compared to my previous experiences where bureaucracy slowed things down. In addition, people here are open to receiving feedback and criticism in pursue of constant improvement.” This open, direct, and proactive work culture allows engineers like Adem to take ownership of their projects and learn from their mistakes—a value he greatly appreciates.

Exploring Nobleo’s multi-disciplinary expertise

Adem’s first project at Nobleo was the PVIT demonstrator, a Photonic Visual Inspection Tool. He built the test setup from scratch, allowing him to combine his background in mechanical engineering, aerospace, and control systems. “It was a fun project that helped me apply all the knowledge I had gained so far,” he says. “It was an all-in-one kind of project, we designed and built the system ourselves and then tested it, which was really satisfying.”
Now, Adem is working on a Zoom Beam Expander and Focus Actuator used to direct a laser within a future type of EUV machine for lithography. He’s involved in the qualification of these complex and accurate modules. His attention to detail and problem-solving skills have already made an impact. During these complex design qualifications he was able to identify potential issues that otherwise might have been easily overlooked. “That attention to detail is something I learned from my time in aviation, where safety and precision are critical.”

“See where I am now. I am learning new things every day,

from different people, from different cultures, from different perspectives.”

A culture of learning and growth

What sets Nobleo apart, in Adem’s eyes, is the emphasis on continuous learning and personal development. This emphasis is ingrained in Nobleo’s DNA from day one. New employees are introduced to all departments to understand the company’s way of working and identify areas of interest. Team Leads take a hands-on approach, assessing each individual’s skills and finding tasks that align with their strengths while offering opportunities for continuous development in areas that need improvement.
“This really resonated with me, because I see life as a journey of constant learning,” Adem says. “Ten years ago I would never have dreamed that I would leave Syria, would leave my comfort zone. And see where I am now. I am learning new things every day, from different people, from different cultures, from different perspectives.”

Advice for future Nobleo engineers

When asked what advice he would give to others considering a career at Nobleo, Adem is clear: “I can absolutely recommend Nobleo to anyone who wants to continue to grow. Here, they allow you to take initiative, be proactive, and take ownership of your projects. And they really care about your growth, both professionally and personally. It’s a place where you can truly learn, make an impact, and be part of a creative and dynamical team.”
